Understandably from childhood to adulthood, Mote Vicente Alfaro, including a devout Christian who went to church. Each week he diligently attended and never forget to read the Bible, even being at home. Moreover, he lived in Spain, a country that predominantly Catholic.
Until finally at the age of 20 years, Alfaro 'introduced' to Islam by his neighbor, a Muslim Algeria. ''When talking, he says that all human beings are descendants of Adam and Eve, and all are children of Abraham,''he recounts the incident. ''I was surprised to learn that in Islam is also familiar with Adam, Eve, and Abraham''.
The conversation was apparently so self-trace in Alfaro. Kept remembering the words of his neighbor's head, make him more curious about religion which first revealed in Makkah this. To satisfy his curiosity, he tried to find references to Islam from the library. At that time, he was in college. ''Next, I borrowed a copy of the Koran (and translation) from the library,''he said.
Alfaro took it home and read the Koran carefully. Verse by verse, sheet after sheet, the Quran is read slowly. Until finally, he got the Quranic verses that tells about Jesus (Prophet Isa) and the crucifixion scene. Explanations and stories about Jesus contained in the scripture of Muslims seemed to shake his little heart.
''I have often read in the Gospels that Jesus is the son of God and God sent his son to earth to be killed and tortured in order to liberate mankind's sins. I actually always have a problem with it, especially to be able to trust the story,''Alfaro said his heart when it has not met with Islam.
After reading the Koran, he seemed to find the real answers about the story of Jesus and his crucifixion. ''I found the answer in the Koran. Jesus never tortured or crucified,''he said. Muslims believe in Jesus as''one of the Apostles are highly respected. In Islam, Jesus did not have crucifixion, but was taken to heaven and one day will be lowered back to earth at the end of time.''
The story of Jesus in the Koran that seems to be an important milestone for Alfaro to get to the light of Islam. After his heart more steady, he said two sentences creed. ''I quickly realized that the Qur'an is the Book of God is true, and I never regretted being a new convert,''said the man who now has a name that Mansour.
And now when people ask Alfaro how he could become a new convert, he will give a simple answer. ''Allah has made Islam as a religion and my life,''he said with great humility. ''I read the Koran, discovering the truth about Jesus, and I decided to become Muslim.''
Alfaro is now happy with his new religion. In fact, his knowledge about Islam has grown rapidly. In 2005, he became a member of the Board of Directors of the Islamic Cultural Center of Valencia (CCIV). In fact, he became the first converts in Spain who became Imam of the mosque in CCIV. ''He's electable because of his religious knowledge is extensive,''said El-Taher Edda, the Secretary General of the Islamic League for Dialogue and Coexistence.
